Coffins and Urns

There are many styles of coffin and ashes casket to choose from. You may decide to have a traditional wooden coffin or something more unique.

We can show you what is available and guide you through your decisions.

Traditional Coffins

Traditional coffins are usually made from wood and have a veneer such as Oak or Mahogany.  They may be finished with different stains, panel sides or lacquer.  If cremated, the handles and fixtures have to be an acceptable plastic made to look like brass or silver.  Wooden handles are also available.  As a more expensive option, solid wood coffins with brass handles are also available.

Alternative Coffins

Many alternative options are also available. Coffins can have bespoke family graphics and themes such as a favourite football team, sport or hobby.  More natural options include coffins made from Bamboo, Willow/Wicker or woven grass and banana leaf.

Ashes Caskets and Urns

Caskets and Urns come in a variety of materials including cardboard, wood, metal and even water soluble salt! The choice depends on what you wish to do with the ashes in future, if they are to be scattered, buried or kept.  We will be able to advise on the options available for both containers and burying or scattering the ashes.

If you are planning to scatter the ashes soon after the funeral you can also ask us to loan you a suitable urn to hold and scatter the ashes.
