Flowers & Donations
Funeral flowers
Flowers are associated with funerals as a way of paying tribute to the deceased and expressing sympathy to the deceased’s friends and family.
There are a wide variety of different funeral flower arrangements and you can choose specific types of flowers or colours, perhaps in line with the preference of the deceased. There are many types of arrangements available from bespoke designs, coffin sprays and sympathy sprays to wreaths, bouquets, shaped and specialist tributes.
We can give advice on ordering funeral flowers and can also record or collect the card messages for you as a lasting tribute to your loved one.
Charitable donations
Many people prefer charitable donations in lieu of flowers. Families sometimes request that flowers are sent by family members only and others are encouraged to donate to the chosen charity. Families usually select a charity relating to the deceased, for example, a local hospice that they stayed at, or a charity that they supported or benefitted from.
Our service can include receiving donations for the chosen charity, compiling a list of donors and then forwarding to the charity and next of kin. Electronic payments can often be made directly to the charity more cost effectively but donors can still let us know about their donation so that we can add them to the list of donors. To give family and friends time, we usually wait a month after the funeral service before forwarding the donations to the charity and writing to the next of kin.

“Thank you for making the arrangements for Dad’s funeral and for your kindness, compassion and professionalism. Dad couldn’t have been in better hands and we felt that the funeral itself went really well and was the best it could be.”
