Woodland Burials
Woodland Burials
A woodland burial is an alternative to a burial in a traditional cemetery.
The idea of laying a loved one to rest amongst nature, surrounded by trees, flowers and wildlife is becoming increasingly popular.
If this is an option you are considering we can help you find a burial ground to suit you. Woodland burial grounds tend to have strict rules about the types of memorial and other items that can be placed on the grave. Before choosing a burial ground it is recommended that these rules are understood.
We can provide woodland burials in several locations on the Isle of Wight.
Northwood Cemetery Natural Burial Ground
The creation of a Natural Burial Ground has been a major feature of the Northwood Cemetery Heritage Project. This section of the 17 acre Cemetery is the first local authority owned site for natural burials on the Island. More info

“I’d just like to express our utmost gratitude not only for yesterday but over the last couple of weeks. The compassion you showed when dealing with our family in such difficult circumstances was such a comfort. Yesterday’s Service was just what we wanted. Please convey my thanks to your staff who behaved with dignity and respect throughout.”
